Quick Start Guide
VeroRoutes by FSAerodata is intended for hobbyists and personal training in conjunction with Flight Simulator tool, and is not suitable or certified for actually train a person to operate an aircraft.
VeroRoutes is a new product; in case you need assistance, the following channels are available:
This section provides a quick start guide to set up VeroRoutes, generate flight plans and use the ARTCC virtual centers to receive CPDLC messages during the en-route phase.
The VerorRoutes plugin is a small app working in the background when the flight simulator is running and the user has activated a flight plan. It delivers ADS-C position data of the aircraft from the flight simulator to VeroRoutes virtual ARTCC network.
- Install the VeroRoutes plugin module, available here: veroroutes-setup.zip
- Once installed, execute the plugin. The application by default is minimized to the system tray, which can be found on the right-side of the Windows Taskbar.
- Hover the mouse over the VeroRoutes icon, right-click and open the settings window.
- Enter the username you are registered with at FSAerodata and the Hoppie logon code. New Hoppie ACARS users can register here: register Hoppie ACARS
IMPORTANT: when registering, select FSAD (FSAerodata) as network affiliation.
- X-plane users: the plugin XPUIPC is needed to read the airplane coordinates. It can be downloaded here: https://www.schiratti.com/xpuipc.html
Flight plans search console:
The search console gives access to the large database of flight routes that are processed by VeroRoutes on real-time.
Search for flight routes using any of the filtering options available, and select the '+' symbol in each of the results to view more details of the selected flight plan.
Once you have selected a flight route, press the button "FLY THE FLIGHTPLAN + CPDLC MESSAGES" to select the flight plan for tracking by the Virtual VeroRoutes ARTCC network.
Import of flight plan data using Flightradar24 or FlightAware:
Both services provide flight tracking on thousands of flights. There is an official VeroRoutes Chrome extension available, that allows importing the flight plan details from VeroRoutes, for any flight that has already ended.
Please follow the next steps:
1-Download the extension from Chrome Web store: VeroRoutes Import FlightPlan
2- On Flightradar24, select a flight which has ended, and press the 'Play' button to display the flight route; move the mouse to the VeroRoutes extension menu, and press the button 'Import Flight Plan'. A new tab will open with the flight details.
On FlightAware, select a flight which has ended; move the mouse to the VeroRoutes extension menu, and press the button 'Import Flight Plan'. A new tab will open with the flight details.
3- Once you have selected a flight route, press the button "FLY THE FLIGHTPLAN + CPDLC MESSAGES" to select the flight plan for tracking by the Virtual VeroRoutes ARTCC network.
En-Route ARTCC tracking with CPDL messages
On the airplane, verify it is enabled to receive CPDLC messages and the Hoppie logon code has been entered.
At gate, before departure, when available on the selected aircraft, you may request PDC (Pre-departure clearance) or Clearance request. Check the aircraft user's manual for more details on the workflow to follow.
Before takeoff, connect to VeroRoutes ARTCC network using the notification option in the FMS ATC menu, entering the 4-digit callsign of the ARTCC center that is controlling the airspace at departure airport. The info is available on the Search console flight plan details.
After departure, the ARTCC center should start delivering messages as in the real-life flight during the en-route phase.
You may reset the flight at any time, by selecting the menu "Reset Flight" on the VeroRoutes plugin app, located on Windows System Tray.
Once the ARTCC en-route services have ended, the message "RADAR SERVICES TERMINATED" is received on the DCDU/MCDU display.
For your reference, the flight callsign and the controlling ARTCC center at departure airport, are displayed as you hover the mouse over the plugin icon.
