Having trouble enabling database in P3D v5

Post by jalbino59 »

Hello. I cant figure out what I did wrong. I have a dual installation p3d v4.5 and v.5.1. Everything works fine on my v.4 installation, but when I try to enable the database on v.5 I get an exception error saying that it can't find Disable_ORG.bat or Restore_ORG.bat in the v.5 system folder. I figured I would just copy the batch code from my v4 installation over to the v.5 folder and I was able to get it to run. However then I got a message that it could not find the addon.xml and requested I move it manually. It didn't tell me where to look for that file. So I'm now stuck and don't know how to proceed. I backed out my manual changes and deleted the scenery folders, but I don't know how to proceed from here. Hope I'm making sense. If there's any other information I can provide please let me know.

Thank,
Jose

Hello,
Please check the tool is detecting correctly the location of Prepar3D, under menu Options.

Additionally, please verify the FSAerodata database is located under the following path: [your Documents folder]\fsAerodata files.

Finally, you may try to uninstall the config tool (please disable any active database first!), delete the fsAerodata files folder and reinstall it again, in order to have a clean installation.

In case you still have problems, let me know,

Hope it helps,

Thanks, with your help regarding the folder structure and using the makerwys executable you provided (rather than the newer 5+ version downloads) I have it all working again on both instances.

Best regards,
